Suurmarttyyri Jaakob Persialainen Suurmarttyyri Jaakob Persialainen (lat. Intercisus = irti paloiteltu, kreik. Ιάκωβος ο Πέρσης) syntyi Persiassa 300-luvulla varakkaaseen perheeseen. Hän toimi upseerina ja poliittisen neuvonantajana sassanidikuninkaiden Izdegerdin (Izdekerti, 399-420) ja hänen seuraajansa Barakhranesin (420-438) hoveissa.
