阿奎里娜出生于巴勒斯坦的毕布鲁斯镇，父母是荣耀的基督徒。阿奎里娜七岁时就已经完全通晓真正的基督徒的生活，10岁时，她充满了神圣的智慧和圣灵的恩典，用大能和热忱向她的女伙伴讲述基督。当戴克里先开始对基督徒进行迫害时，有人向沃鲁西安前告发阿奎里娜；沃鲁西安是皇室的官员，他如同野兽一样残忍。起初，沃鲁西安下令将阿奎里娜进行鞭打，之后用烧红的铁棒穿透了她的双耳和大脑。直到最后的时刻，阿奎里娜自由表白了自己的基督信仰，而当她的大脑和血液开始从她的头流出来的时候，她倒在地上如同一个死人。执行官确信阿奎里娜已经死了，于是下令将她尸体运到城外的粪坑和垃圾中，让野狗蚕食。但是，上帝的天使在晚上向她显现，对她说："起来，让你的身体恢复完整！"阿奎里娜站了起来，身体恢复了完整，并长时间唱赞美诗感谢上帝，请求上帝不要使她失去成为殉道者的机会。有来自天国的声音说："你的祷告将会应验"，阿奎里娜前往城中。城的大门在她面前自动地打开了，她如同灵一样进入了沃鲁西安的宫殿中，出现在沃鲁西安的窗前。沃鲁西安凝视着她，充满了难以形容的恐惧，他认为阿奎里娜已经死了。第二天，根据他的命令，刽子手带着阿奎里娜出城将其斩首。在阿奎里娜被斩首之前，阿奎里娜跪倒在地向上帝祷告，由此将灵魂交在上帝的手中。刽子手将她无生命的尸体斩首。阿奎里娜的圣髑治愈了不少病人。阿奎里娜为主殉道时年仅12岁，由此得到了殉道的冠冕，当时为公元293年。
