Свети епископ Маркијан, ученик светог апостола Петра, би послан од апостола Петра у град Сиракузу на острву Сицилији. Својим чудесима и знамењима он обрати ка Христу многе незнабошце. Својом молитвом он разори идолишта и идоле, и светлошћу богопознања и светог крштења он многе начини синовима светлости. Стога тамошњи Јевреји, обузети завишћу, љутом смрћу уморише светог епископа; и тако блажени страдалник доби неувенљиви венац мучеништва. Свете мошти његове почивају у Гаети у Италији.

- To do the annual calendar, display showing the liturgical readings per week

- To do a completely new approach with banners and a small calendars for other sites,
