ღირსი ასკლიპი და იაკობი, სირიელი მოღვაწეები, V საუკუნეში ცხოვრობდნენ. მათ შესახებ ცნობებს გვაწვდის ნეტარი თეოდორიტე, კვიპრელი ეპისკოპოსი. ღირსი ასკლიპი მშობლიურ სოფელშივე ეწეოდა მკაცრ მოღვაწეობას. წმიდა მამას მრავალი მოწაფე და მიმბაძველი ჰყავდა. ერთი მათგანი იყო ნეტარი იაკობი, რომელიც სოფელ ნიმუზის მახლობლად მცირე ქოხში გამოიკეტა და თავისი 90-წლოვანი სიცოცხლის ბოლომდე არ გამოსულა კელიიდან. მნახველებს წმიდანი პასუხობდა ვიწრო ჭრილიდან, რომელიც ირიბად იყო კედელში დატანებული, ისე, რომ არავის შესძლებოდა მისი დანახვა.
