წმიდა მოწამე ნესტორ თესალონიკელი 306 წელს ეწამა ქალაქ თესალონიკში. წმიდა დიმიტრი თესალონიკელის კურთხევით ყმაწვილი ნესტორი შეებრძოლა იმპერატორ მაქსიმინე გალერიუსის (305-311) საყვარელ გლადიატორს, ბუმბერაზ და მძვინვარე ლიუსს, რომელიც გლადიატორულ არენაზე დაუნდობლად ხოცავდა ქრისტიანებს და დაამარცხა იგი (იხ. 26 ოქტომბრის საკითხავი, დიდმოწამე დიმიტრის ცხოვრება). გალერიუსის ბრძანებით წმიდა მარტვილი იქვე განგმირეს.
