Ο Άγιος Οσιομάρτυρας Γρηγόριος καταγόταν από την Ρωσία και ασκήτεψε στη Μονή του Αγίου Θεοδοσίου της Μεγάλης Λαύρας. Με την ακρίβεια της μοναχικής του βιοτής και τα πνευματικά παλαίσματα, από πολύ νωρίς αξιώθηκε να επιτελεί ποικίλα θαύματα στο Όνομα του Χριστού. Ιδιαίτερο χάρισμα του έδωσε ο Θεός εναντίων των πονηρών πνευμάτων, που τα επιτιμούσε και τα απομάκρυνε από τους ανθρώπους. Μαρτύρησε το έτος 1094 επί ηγεμόνος Ραστισλάβου.
