Η Αγία Μελιτίνη κατηγορήθηκε ως Χριστιανή και οδηγήθηκε στον τοπικό άρχοντα όπου ομολόγησε την πίστη της στο Χριστό. Ο άρχοντας εξοργίστηκε και πρόσταξε να τη χτυπήσουν βάναυσα στο πρόσωπο. Στη συνέχεια τη γύμνωσαν και την οδήγησαν στο δικαστήριο, όπου την ανέκριναν πολλές ώρες. Μετά από την ανάκριση υποβλήθηκε σε πολλά βασανιστήρια. Τελικά υποβλήθηκε στην τιμωρία του αποκεφαλισμού. Έτσι η Αγία μάρτυρας Μελιτίνη τελείωσε και έλαβε από τον Κύριο το άφθαρτο στέφανο του μαρτυρίου.
