Жена на Елкан, од Арматем или Ариматеја (1 Сам. 1). Немаше деца бидејќи беше неплодна, заради што горко плачеше и тагуваше. Но милостивиот Бог се смилува на неа и ја разреши нејзината неплодност заради нејзините непрестајни воздишки и молитви. Ана го роди синот Самуил и Му го посвети на Бога уште од неговото детство. Тој беше голем водач на Израилскиот народ и Пророк, помаза два цара, Саул и Давид. А Св. Ана Му испеа на Бога благодарствена песна, чудесна според мудроста и убавината, па нејзе и ден денес ја пеат во богослужбите на Црквата (1 Сам. 2, 1).
