Si fiind crestin si râvnitor binelui, ocara si defaima înaintea tuturor, pe dumnezeii elinilor, întarea pe crestini în credinta cea în Hristos si-i îndemna în tot chipul spre lucrarea dumnezeiestilor porunci. Deci facând el asa a fost prins de guvernatorul cetatii si fiind întrebat, a marturisit pe Hristos cu îndrazneala fara frica înaintea tuturor, ca este Dumnezeu mai înainte de veci si Facatorul tuturor; si ca zeii pagânilor, sunt lemne, pietre, aur, argint, arama, fier, idoli fara suflet si fara simtire. Acestea zicând, l-au batut cumplit, l-au spânzurat de un lemn si l-au strujit; si aprinzând foc mare l-au aruncat în mijlocul focului; iar el bucurându-se si rugându-se în taina si multumind lui Dumnezeu, s-a savârsit.
