Sfantul Ipatie s-a nascut in Cilicia si a fost episcop in Gangra. A participat la primul sinod ecumenic de la Niceea din anul 325. In timp ce se intorcea de la Constantinopol,a fost prins si batut de ereticii novatieni. O femeie din grupul acestora l-a lovit pe sfant cu o piatra in cap si in urma acestei lovituri, Sfantul Ipatie a trecut la cele vesnice. Femeia a inebunit in clipa in care a vazut moartea acestuia. Mai tarziu, a fost dusa la mormantul sfantului unde va primi vindecarea. Dupa tamaduire, aceasta femeie isi va petrece toata viata in lacrimi si rugaciune.
